Amplifier for Tannoy D700 speakers

I posted in this forum a while ago asking for advice on a suitable amplifier and an Abrahamsen 2.0 was recommended. I have followed this up with the Norwegian company and found they are very poor at replying to my e mails. One of my requests was to provide me with or point me in the direction of independant reviews of their equipment but nothing has been forthcoming despite a number of e mails. Can anyone here point me towards any reviews - in English or otherwise? They have given me prices and shipping quotes but I would like to know more about the kit first! I may also consider their CD player - if I can find out anything about them!

Hi pavlo, unfortunately no reviews but I'm in the same boat as you, I've got some d700s and have also emailed the same company following on from the advice in your original post although they back at all yet. Another amp that has been recommended to me, on sale in the UK are from the wyred 4 sound range and are apparently well suited to the tannoys, maybe a bit over budget though? If you do purchase the v2.0 is be interested in your opinions.

It is going to be hard to find mainstream reviews because of the fairly low volume of sales by a small company , magazines are simply not interested in doing a review because there is nothing in it for them .

Thanks, I bit the bullet and bought the v2 integrated, it arrive a couple of weeks ago, I'm no audiophile by any means and certainly can't put into words what tremendous sound is now produced, but if your still interested pavlova I can highly recommend this gear to drive your tannoys you won't be disappointed!

Perhaps you could write a short story about you experience or maybe a longer review if you have time , I am sure many people will be interested .
