Hi. Has anyone listened to the Nad 316Bee and the Nad 326Bee? Is there much difference in overall sound quality?
I am currently running a Nad 316Bee with a Musical Fidelity V-Dac II and recently acquired used Quad 11L speakers. The Quads replaced a pair of Q Acoustics 2020s. For me this was a real jump in quality. Very happy with the Quads.
Having heard my Father's new Cambridge Audio CXA60 I realised just what a huge difference an amplifier can make, Clarity and detail I have never heard before. Great amp. I subsequently got itchy feet with regards to my system.
I am working wihtin a small budget but have noticed the Nad 326Bee selling at discount at £279.00. New with full warranty. If I had tha available funds I would purchase the CA CXA60 but alas I do not. For the money I think the NAD 316Bee is a great value amp however I am considering selling the 316Bee on ebay and purchasing the 326Bee. If it is simpy the case of the 326Bee providing more functionality and 10 more watts of the same sound quality for me there is little point. If however there is a noticeable difference, albeit small, in separation/staging/image and specifically high end detail I might take the plunge. I am not expecting the same result as my Father's new CA CXA60 but a step up in sound quality for a small outlay would be welcome.
As you may gather I am not a major hifi buff but do enjoy listening to good system. I mainly listen to jazz, country, folk and classical. Some advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
