Amp postage boxes

Completely agree with @Gray re manufacturers boxes. Bear any mind any previously used box, or one stored in a damp loft or garage will have lost much of its strength.

Any sturdy box that’s significantly bigger all round is fine, preferably with a second one outside that. What’s more vital is how you pack and wrap the amp itself.

You need a polythene bag to seal out dust and prevent any ‘rub’ marks. Make sure the mains plug has a protector on it, and is secured, or it can cause untold damage. Then pack tightly all all surfaces with some polystyrene chips or bubble wrap, or twisted paper like Amazon use. Assume the parcel will be dropped from a considerable height. Finally, seal all the seams with parcel tape, and again with the outer.

Fortunately I still had the original box (stored in a dry loft) when I sold on my Sony 4k BDP. But outer wrapping sealed with “Fragile” tape, and booked with Evri. All went well.
