Amp Indecision reigns.....for now

As can be seen from my signature, I have a Roksan Kandy 111 amp, though previously happy with this beastie, I got to wondering wether I should start looking around for a replacement. I have done some reading, though no auditioning yet.

I am thinking, Leema pulse, roksan caspian, musical fidelity m3i as auditionees, I am not keen on the cyrus sound, having listened to several efforts by them allready in the past.

I really like what I am reading about the musical fidelity, everytime i read something new, especially on this forum.

My room measures 5m x3.5 and I have a wide range of musical tastes, from Arvo Part, Gazpacho, Manic street preachers to Robin Trower.

I mostly listen through spotify, via apple tv via my audiolab, or cd.

I use my B&W CM8's for both music and cinema by linking my pioneer reciever and roksan, this is a facility, ie the fixed input that I like on the m3i.

I looking for a forward, good low end and can handle rock music thrown at it mid volume.

Im looking for some personnel insights and reccomendations to narrow or broaden my choices before I review

- Electrocompaniet PI-1 / ECI-3 (ex-dem)

Hi I love my rock music and my m6i delivers all the attack punch bass that you could ask for the m3i has all of these qualitys so I would put it at the top of your list having said that I would recomend a home dem :rockout: have fun . the roksan caspian is also a great amp one I gave serious consideration to I also liked the leema so 3 very good amps IMHO good luck

Thanks guys, I will just have to audition all. I must admit everytime I look at the m6i, I think, love one of those, just dont think the rest of my kit will do it justice.

JUst heard the MF M3i yesterday, it has plenty of power for its rating, so yes worth a demo, don't know about your speakers, probably need quite a bit of power. The M6i would probably be better.

It (imo) can be quite surprising what effect a really good amp can have.....for a start, it may well make your speakers appear like they have been upgraded.

Don't take my word for it though, and don't get hung up on one brand at the exclusion of others (especially those that have been mentioned in this thread).

Depending on budget, the Sugden A21 SE is also a good shout.

TM, how did the M6i compare to the M2?

I seriously considered the former, but I could't get to demo it, so had to cross it off my list. On paper it ticked a lot of boxes for me.
