American DACs

Hi,

I'm visiting the US soon where I plan to take advantage of the dollar rate to buy an audiophile DAC.
My research has led me to the Benchmark DAC1 vs the PS Audio DL3.
I've seen good reviews for both units, would be interested in your verdict.

Bear in mind that if the DAC doesn't have a universal voltage power supply, you'll need to either buy a new power supply, or use a transformer with the existing one.

I have been viewing the Wavelength Proton as a future DAC upgrade. The price difference from the UK through the European importer based in Poland to the price in the US makes it worthwhile going and getting one myself from the US.

Hadn't considered the Peachtree Nova as it's also an amplifier, and I'm already well sorted on the amplification front.

For the same reason I've not gone with the Linn Majik, as that's a DAC+amp and I want to focus all my money on the best DAC.

I have now gone ahead and ordered the PS Audio DLIII, including some upgrades from a specialist 3rd party company:-
