Does anyone have any experience of this set. Have just seen it running HD and PS3 stuff and it seemed really quite good. Have seen it for around £650-£670 but I did'nt get to see it on SD, so I dont know if there are better options for that money. I also saw the Sony V3000, but the sales guy seemed to think that wasnt much of a set.

Toshiba's new 37XV505 set also seems very good (Amazon have the 503 version on sale for £600 - same tv just diff colour), on paper, but obviously specs dont always tell the whole story. Anyone seen this set?

I liked the idea of a Pana plasma or maybe a Samsung plasma because of the better SD quality and black levels but i still cant help being a bit worried about this. I know screen burn is not really an issue but, i often leave things like sky sports news on for hours and hours, often all day and so i dont want to have problems with this, just because i like having it on in background or just fall asleep, etc.

Advice would be appreciated. Buying a TV should not be so hard!!!

I was originally looking at getting the 40D. It has a stunning HD picture on static images but I eventually rejected it as it seemed to have very poor motion handling, particularly on standard def images. Went for the Panasonic 37 inch PX80 at a similar price.

I'll point you to my post here for reassurance.

in addition to the great post by professorhat ^_^
im sure the new Panasonics have something called: pixel shuffling or something along the lines, which will slightly shuffle pixels around on the screen (which you can only see if your eyes are pressed to the screen) to help prevent the unlikely screen burn...
