Here's a thought for the modern age. Thought I'd start a thread asking how people connect the latest music playing technology into their systems. i.e. Spotify (or equivalents), bluetooth for phones, music files of all sorts, discs and whatever comes next.

In my case the addition of an Oppo player enabled all sorts of new methods of acquiring and playing music. e.g. Tidal as an app, all my HD/music files attached on a hard drive, networked files and a physical connector for a phone. It was a benefit that I wasn't really expecting when I bought the unit, but I've used the facilities a lot since. I'm aware that quite a bit can be done via my TV, particularly with Samsung devices (it appears to struggle with other brands despite using the same protocols) but I have not used it much.

I'd be particularly interested in any novel or multiple methods of connection, and a general broadening of my understanding.

Thanks, Mark (Oppo Fanboy, obviously)

The only novel connection I have is an android TV box for uPnP to stream music to my AV amp. The rest is plain vanilla.

The Oppo is a brilliant bit of kit isn't it. I have mine connected up pretty similarly with a Fiio X3 in place of the phone.

Apart from connections I also play CD, SACD, HDCD and bluray audio discs with it.

I use the Oppo app to control it from my tablet.

I bought a lot of this together with a cheap and cheerful Raumfeld Connector. It's an ace bit of kit in my opinion and covers all my streaming needs. Nice droid interface as well which is pleasing in this day and age. https://uk.raumfeld.com/raumfeld-connector-p9527.html

Never seen the Raumfield before, which is interesting. I have Denon 37 in the bedroom, and I can see that getting a streamer added.

Hey AI ears, have you figured out a way to save multiple playlists using the Oppo app by any chance? It appears beyond me.

Not something I have ever tried to be honest. I haven't long had the Oppo Media app installed.

I use Bluetooth aptx, wireless and wired DLNA, Squeezebox Touch and Logitech media server, PC connected to a DAC etc.

I would be interested to know if someone uses their smart TV as a media source, routing the optical output or HDMI through a DAC/AV amp. How does this setup sound?
