well, my new amp turned up today and after the initial adjustment to the sound, i could well be in love.

not the most immediate listen, but so natural and unforced, it just lets "the music" flow. tight, punchy and detailed bass and totally non-fatigueing. in fact the more i hear it, the better it gets. just got to get a dac ordered now.

Good stuff! I haven't heard any Moon stuff but it looks interesting. I got my Quad Netaudio 405 power amp recently and am now basking in masses of detail and openness

benchmark dac1, i think i'm going to get it from a german website as it is about 50 notes cheaper, and still with a 30 day money back guarantee.

i think i'll give a "big up" to loud and clear in edinburgh too. very informative on the phone, and happy to let me home dem via courier. the dem is over on its first day though, there's no way i'm sending this back.
