After about 5 minutes of listening to music, my speakers go quiet. Any ideas?

So I got my first set of speakers and a receiver today. Both from eBay... I take many risks. I've set it all up and it works well for about 4 minutes and then the audio source goes quiet and a slight hiss can be heard. I've got my PC connected to my receiver, via the 3.5mm jack on the back of the pc to the auxiliary connection on the receiver. The speakers are connected directly to the receiver. The receiver is a yamaha rx-330 seen here -http://pgtech.strefa.pl/yamaha%20rx-330%205.jpg And my speakers are technics sb-f5's, seen here -http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/9821/img7279c.jpg This is the first system I've set up, so it could just be down to bad wiring. Could this issue be caused by my poor attempt? Cheers!

try plugging the computer in to a different input, say cd or something, see if you can rule out if it's the input that's the issue. If this makes no difference, try another device, such as your phone instead of your computer so you can see if it's an issue with the amp/speakers, or the source.

Has the song you were listening to ended?

As funny as that is (crossed my mind too) it's not very helpful! Try to identify the source of the problem through a process of eliminiation.

Sorry but I simply couldn't resist.

Do what SteveR750 said.
