Hi, I have an entry level pioneer av receiver vsx-521K which i am glad with its cinema experience connected to a pair of Yamaha NS-F150 towers and a set of centre & sorround NS-P150. But I didn't like its stereo output and ditrect output for CDs and MP3.

I have heard that connecting a dedicated 2 Channel Stereo Amp for the main speakers could result in a better sound.

How to connect the 2 Channel Amp.

When listening, shall I power on the receiver as well, or it could be on stand by.

can I still utilise my subwoofer in such setting?

Many thanks for your help

Your Pioneer doesn't have any pre-outs so you can't connect it to a stereo amp to drive front left/right speakers.

You could use a speaker switch though >>> http://www.beresford.me/products/routers.html
