advice soundcard/dac/squeezebox

Hi

I want to hook up my amp to my Dell Vospro 220 computer (dedicated music storage) any advice on what is best for sound;

1. High quality soundcard with an optical out direct to the amp (RV800RDS Yamaha multi channel reciever - no HDMI input)

2. Link computer to the amp via a DAC

3. The Logitech squeeze box system.

I do want to route the music through to other rooms in the future

Or, seeing as you already have one in the Yamaha, Squeezebox (or similar) direct to that......

Or, if you use iTunes, just get an Airport Express, which provides an optical out and could go round the back of the Yamaha.
