My father has one of those Sony all in one systems with wireless rear speakers and a transmiter connected to the dvd/amp. After a few sessions in my lounge, he now wants to upgrade his sound and vision. The problem is parquet flooring and the need for speaker cables to either be not needed for the rear speakers or a lot would be needed and it chased in walls and basically a lot of work for me! If I could get him some half decent slimline front speakers and centre and maybe the budget Onkyo receiver, a Denon 1740 and he will get a Freesat box, he will at last see his old LCD (one of the first HD ready sets) show a half decent picture - he has never had upscaled dvd or anything more than Sky box - basically scart city. Are there any wireless rear speakers that can be attached to a normal AV receiver?

Spoookie! there choice of spealers in their picci is exactly the same as My front room

So it's £400 for what? Two receivers? Two receivers and speakers? Would this mean that he could have stereo speakers as his front left and right speakers and a centre and then two rear speakers with the KEF receivers linking them to the AV receiver? It looks a good idea but I agree, expensive. Metres of QED micro on better speakers for cheaper?

Yup, all it is is a way of connecting ordinary speakers wirelessly to the AV receiver. The speakers themselves cost extra - hence why it's expensive. Unfortunately, this is what you'll find with wireless solutions. A few metres of QED micro will be much much cheaper and provide the same results.
