Hello.
I have a 'Simple Audio RP1' music streamer powering some bookshelf speakers bought 15 years ago.
Sadly the foam around the bass driver is breaking down - probably due to age and the relentless heat and humidity they need to operate in.
I've read some reviews on the Proac floor stands and am interested, however I can't place them 1m from the wall. This is Hong Kong and space is a premium and the wife will go nuts with them sticking out like that.
So I am open to ideas for floor stands or bookshelves (I have some 25kg 27" stands). They need to be fairly close to the wall and walls in flats here are solid concrete walls and the floor is a hard wood no carpet.
I would appreciate any advice.
By the way the Simple Audio has an integrated 50W Class D amp. When running draws sub 15 watts which is good from an environmental aspect.
Please don't suggest KEF LS50 speakers, as I had some of those but they did not work well at low levels which is the listening volume that the system needs to be playing all day. Don't get me wrong when cranked up they were lovely...
Thanks!
