Hi everyone I'm new to the forums here.

Recently I was running my old phono Technics SL-BD20D with new Tonar cartridge, a Yamaha CD-S300 CD player hooked on Yamaha A-S201 stereo amplifier.

My old Wharfedale speakers goes down, so I bought new Focal CHORUS 714V 8 Ohm speakers with Black Rhodium Twisted 2.5 m speaker cable with banana plugs.

After several days of hearing my setup, found that it is not so good as I expected.

Reading some reviews and critics of my amp, I found some advice to replace it with better amplifier. I listen rock, progressive rock, blues and soul.

Any suggestion or advice would welcome. My budget about 1.5K Euros.

Cheers

Hey Zdenko, for your price range, see if you can get your hands on a Bryston 4B SST or SST2, you should be able to find one at least second hand in your target price range. Bryston makes excellent amplifiers and the 4B delivers 250w+ at 8 ohms effortlessly, should drive your Focals with ease and lots of oomph.

Than you Badboygeek, I'll contact local Bryston dealer for some tests with brand new;Cheers
