I'm happy with my existing AV kit but following a move to a new house I'm keen to take some steps to improve appearance of wiring etc. ahead of decorating lounge. It would be helpful to get some thoughts from others on experience of installers and methods. Thanks!
Planned work would involve
- wall mounting satellite speakers and tv
- hiding/managing wires including to rear speakers
- tidying up aerial/satellite cables coming into lounge
- possibly installing ethernet to lounge from router across hall
- moving power sockets
Have you used custom installers or regular electricians for this type of work? Any recommendations in West Yorkshire?
What options have you considered for managing cables to wall mounted speakers/tv? (its a 1960s house with fairly solid internal walls so I'm not sure how easy putting into walls will be)
What approaches have you used for dealing with wires to rear speakers? Are they easily placed under carpets? (I'm currently undecided on wall mounting these fairly high or using existing B&W stands which are 'ear' height.)
Finally any good recommendations for wooden cupboards/benchs that will take AV equipment aside from specialist stands? I'm finding a lot of options now lack the depth of the old Ikea unit I had which is needed for the amp I have.
Equipment
Samsung 48" H6700 television
B&W MT30 speakers
Pioneer VSX AX3
Humax FOXSAT HDR
Sony BDP S760 bluray
