Advice needed on Hi-Fi speakers, and also a question about speaker stands.

I am looking to buy some hi-fi speakers, i have a marantz ki sig series cd player and amp (cant recall exactly which model, apologies). just moved house so want to keep expenses down if i can. i saw the review of q acoustics 2020's and quite fancied them. any other recommendations? i am also considering wharfedale diamond 10.1's and the mordaunt-short aviano 1's.

now, speaker stands: i also have q acoustics 1010's as part of my home cinema set up, the stands from QA have been discotinued and i cant seem to find any anywhere. does anyone know someone who might have stock? if not would most other speaker stands fit them and be able to be bolted to the speakers like the QA stands can???

The Q acoustics are serious bargains - very good for the money - any speaker stand will work as long as it is steady, does not ring and has the tweeter at ear height.

The Wharfedales are also very good VFM

What is your budget? if I were you I'd get used speakers, from the likes of Mission (751,752,753) Proac, Kef etc

What about the Mezzos or Aviano?

In that price range add Alesis Monitor One Mk2 to your list.

As for speaker stands, Apollo AZ6 are pretty good VFM. As are Soundstyle Z2.
