Hi there guys, I'm a bit new to the world of Hi-Fi

Can you tell me the benefits of Bi-wiring?

Is this done by connecting one end of the cable to 2x +ve and 2x -ve; then attaching the 4 to High Frequency +ve, High Frequency -ve, Low Frequency +ve and Low Frequency -ve?

Can you do this with any amp, or do you need dedicated amplifier to do so?

Thanks for all your input guys !!

You got it. Although if you have an amp with four outputs each channel you could do one each = 4 to 4.

No need for a dedicated amp - just do as you say. You obviously do need bi-wireable speakers.

Some say no sonic benefits, other say huge - try it for yourself with some cheap bi-wire cable possibly first. Or 2 runs of the same cable.

You might find this opens up a debate as it is one of those 'sensitive' subjects on here or any hifi forum, along with burn-in, do cables make a difference, do mains cables make a difference, silver vs copper vs carbon vs silver coated copper vs teflon vs spades vs bananas.

In fact, we're all bananas - welcome to the forum.

Cool thanks !!!!

Wow, there's still so much I need to learn.

There's carbon? Teflon too? My god, still a long way to go.....

Thanks Graham Thomas
