Adding non Cyrus dac to a Cyrus system

Hi all currently using a Cyrus cdi, 8a amp and a psx, is it possible to connect a non Cyrus dac to my amp?or is this a big no no

Technically it is easily doable, however functionally speaking I expect little gain for a relatively high outley.

The cdi is the successor of the cd6 and cd8. Ergo it is supposed to be as good. Given that you would probably need to spend between 500 and 1500 to hear any gains, I would rather invest in something else.
Speakers for instance.
