I need an active noise-cancelling headphone or earphone during flight. Do you guys have any recommendations for me? Bose is way too expensive and I am looking for a good quality with effective noise-cancelling for a long flight.

Humm, is there any active noise-cancelling that is charge-free?

Please share your experiences with me. 🙂

Thank you.

I've found the Sennheiser PXC 250-II are pretty good for just over £100. They can be turned on and off, use a couple of AAAs, come in a small travel pouch and perform well. The feux leather on mine has deteriorated over time but no issues with the sound quality. I've had mine for at about 5 years. I'm on my second pair as the first one failed after about two years and I liked them so much I bought another. I also have the Bose QC25 but prefer the Sennheisers for travel. The engine noise on planes is more or less elliminated.

Active noise cancelling is an active feature, so needs powering. Bose may be expensive, but they're generally used by pilots (the reason noise cancelling headphones were developed). How well they work will depend on how good their noise cancelling feature is, which will partly depend on the quality of the kids used for the feature. You generally get what you pay for.
