Hello,
After much experimenting with the position of the subwoofer I have found that it sounds best when positioned sideways against the wall with the speaker pointing to the right and the port pointing to the left. When I first tried it in this position it sounded boomy but after placing some pillows around it it now sounds tighter and less echoey.
It's clear that I need to use some sort of sound deadening material along the skirting boards, in the corner and under my desk. Could anyone advise me what kind of foam or matting would work well for this purpose.
