Ok - so how do I connect a Bersford 7520 from my pc to an amp ?

What cables do I need and what ins and outs do I use

In my thinking I take an optical / digital lead from my pc to the dac and then phonos from the dac to the amp ..

but I could be way off here

cheers

Well with the 7520 you may as well make use of the USB input. Although you can use the optical input if the PC has the correct output.

Otherwise, it's a USB A-B lead from PC to DAC and then Phonos from the fixed output to a suitable input on the Amp.

Nothing special about it - it just denotes the connector types:

A - Rectangular Connector (PC). B - Square Connector (DAC).

Thanks I'd managed to sort that one - same shape as my printer usb

So I run A from my PC - is that front or back or doesn't it matter ? to the B of my dac - again is that front or back

Cheers

You can plug the cable into any of the USBs sockets on the PC - back, front, side - it doesnt matter.

There is only one USB input on the Beresford - its at the back - socket no4.

Hi peebs. a little note, when you connect the DAC for the first time with USB it will probably download a little USB drive programme. The PC is just recognising the DAC as a USB device. You need to let this happen. With both my DACs this took seconds and happened automatically.
