sounds crap. Anybody concur? Just got the CD and was shocked actually. It's not terrible, but it sounds decidedly muddy.

I have noticed I have a copy on the now Virgin label, not the Island label, and it's in a standard jewel case, not the nicer SACD ones - could it be they f**d it up somehow after the supposed takeover?

I did an online search … saw that the Japanese SHM-SACD has affirming logos:

Personally, my expectations of remasters soured when KI once answered that he didn't like any of the Abbey-Rd-remasters. Meaning specifically that own those albums better in their original-vinyl-release.

I have it on Blu-Ray Audio and it sounds great in 5.1 DTS Master Audio, it cost me about £100 on eBay!

Had a listen on Spotify and while a little lack lustre I wouldn’t put it anywhere near muddy.

To be honest the mix for the various formats is usually different so as to match its capability’s, so may be worth trying a different format, or transfer the original vinyl to a NAS/USB in FLAC format with the sound then only being limited by your turntable combo.
