Why did I bother

Hopefully because you enjoy trying things that can make your system sound better.

However, you make it seem like you only did it for us and that we are somehow ungrateful if response is a bit thin on the ground.

Not everyone has the time or experience or skill or confidence to do such modifications. Not everyone reads the turntable sub-section. Not everyone is awake and reading the forum at 01:28 am when you posted your protest!

Not everyone enjoying your tips and experiments is a registered member. You are probably being read by at least 100 more people for every 1 person who posts a response. (And your modifications will still come up on Google searches long after you have gone into a huff about lack of interest.)

Dial down the 'victim' thing you have going on and present your work and photos and ideas without the assumption that everyone is 'out to get you'.

Negative Chebby, but I see some of your point. Forums are there so that we can learn, and have a laugh . . . why bother otherwise?

Yes, I do get dismayed by lack of respons?? . . . its a good idea (I have read, courteous even) to put something back? Certainly a little encouragement would not go amiss, otherwise those that do contribute will stop, 'why bother', then you loose your free sourse of knowledge and 'entertainment' :?

Hi cjsf,

sorry for any lack of response. On holiday and trying to avoid screens since my eye problem.

Mrs C kicks me if she sees me straining over iPad to see the finer details of the tweaking.

(My justification that someone has just improved their cartridge seems to fall on deaf ears - are all wives like this? ;-)

Well done for the modifications and hope that the horlicks hour improves even more.

:? . . . I would have thought this thread would of generated a much stronger debate over the 'less than solid' mounting of a cartridge in a tone arm. Why sould it work . . . or why cant it work . . . I am therefore talking out of my rear end?

Know the feeling. About three years ago when I posted I'd found a unused mains flex, that cost nowt, and boosted the sound no-one gave a monkeys. :?
PP, are you really saying that all the fundamentalists, currently "contributing" to another thread posted about mains cables, didn't respond to your post?
