Question 9+ band SYNCHRONIZED stereo HiFi graphic equalizer

Why does there seem to be such a shortage of HARDWARE graphic equalizers with SYNCED STEREO channels that consists of more than 5 or so bands? The usual highest number of bands on a HARDWARE eq from what can I find online is about 9.

I would LOVE, and pay decent money for ($100+), a hardware graphic equalizer with SYNCED stereo channels of many bands. 31-band graphic EQs are very common in the pro audio (studio) market, even ones with dual channel, but they're never synced. They're always separate channels that must be adjusted individually.

I used to own a 7 band Rotel RE700.
You got me wondering Joshua - all these years later I would have said it had dual gang sliders.
But no, looking at Google images, I've just seen that there were 7 bands per (individually controlled) channel 🙄

Good luck with finding what you want, but I'm not optimistic for you.

One, less than perfect, option, if you could find a bargain used, split-channel one, would be to modify it - by fitting dual-gang faders to one bank.
Of course that would mean finding stereo versions of the mono slide pots.....and ending up with a redundant, existing mono bank.
But at least you'd have your synchronised control.

I thought about taking something like this (pic attached) and taking the front off, and physically bonding (connecting) the top and bottom slider on the inside, so as you move either of the slider for the corresponding band, they would both move together, and the whole thing wouldn't even be visible

My guess, and that’s all it is, is because the hardware cost to make a transparent sounding device of the necessary accuracy would be too high to be saleable. DSP is almost a giveaway these days, so it especially makes a hardware alternative a hard sell.

Secondly, if you really needed that many channels (EDIT- bands), which I doubt, then you’d actually need to compensate each channel differently, given the difference in speaker siting most of us have.

You’d surely be in the $1,000 plus category to begin with, and who would buy it? My £200 Wiim streamer has a digital EQ and even responds to the mic from an iPhone or iPad.

And you say the cost would be way too high...you can find 31-band dual-channel EQs for less than $200. The Behringer FBQ3102HD comes to mind (pic attached). So for less than $200, the Behringer fits 95% of the bill. If the pots/sliders where mechanically (or somehow electrically) coupled together, then that would do the trick. So I do believe you're wrong there, too.

And you mention your Wiim equipment with it's integrated digital EQ. That's all very nice, good for you, but like I said multiple times, I'm looking for a HARDWARE solution.
