I'm building a unit to house my bits of audio equipment and reckon an 8-way power adapter will be needed.

I was wondering about trying some filtering thingy somewhere along the line. Amazon and the like seem to offer this in a number of relatively modestly priced options. Are all these things much of a muchness?

Might I be better off with bog standard 8-way adaptor with a single filter unit? Or perhaps I should use some other kind of mains connector entirely (which would involve changing the mains cables). Or not even bother!

I'm not after a mega-audiophile thing here. My setup will be less than £3k worth.

So long has it has decent surge suppression, then it’s all you need, however a lot provide insurance for your equipment if a surge damages it, (Some even insure against a lightning strike) so may be worth spending a bit more.

Ignore anything that says it improves the sound of your system, as its just complete nonsense, and anything people do hear, is just in their imagination. (Fortunately the ASA has clamped down on the spurious claims made by Hi-Fi cable manufactures, but there are still some rouges out there)

Hope this helps

The cheek they have. It should make them blush.
