7.1 speaker question

Where do the 6th and 7th speakers go in a 7.1 set up?

I have MA BR1's and BR2's, was thinking of putting the BR1's on a mounts high in the corners as the main rears, and using the BR2 on stands (mainly because I could move them into a cupboard when there not being used). But then for balance would it be better to put the BR2's up in the corners and the BR1's on the stands or possibly mount them up high as well,, but where? Whats the best way for me to set up my speakers?

Thanks! that kinda creates more questions than it answers though?

1. Are the speakers noted sbl and sbr the extra channels?

2. Would this set up work with the sofa hard against the back wall and all 4 speakers in a line on this wall? (as thats how my living room would be set up?)

2. Is there any alternative formations for 7.1 ?

I guess this is hard to explain without being able to draw what I mean.

I never realised there were so many formations!!

I wont have time to look at that website in depth till the weekend. My amp does support dts hd, will I have to tell it how my system is set up? for example it shows the extra speakers used as rears and also fronts, it would need to know where they are.

Auto set-up should tell the amp everything it needs to know about where your speakers are placed.

What's your amp again?

Hi Chris, its a Yamaha 667, its not actually set up yet, and cant remember if it has a mic?
