getting away... in relation to performance or lower cost?

I opted for LS50's all round. This was because the best home conemas you'll hear will have exactly the same speakers all round as they'll produce the most consistent and cohesive sound field. Many people do go for something lesser for rear effect, but bear in mind that there can be just as much coming from the rear speakers as the front speakers, so having rear speakers that are just as capable as the fronts is important (for those that feel it is important).
Also, a different speaker, even if it is from the same manufacturer can have different dispersion characteristics and tonal balance.
CnoEvil said:Not really disagreeing, except that imo. it is more important for the front three match, due to keeping sounds (voices, sound effects etc) which cross from left to right, sounding the same. Though, saying that, if it was me, I would keep them all the same for the sake of £200.....I just like for people to consider different options.
