Im sure im not alone in wanting to buy a 40' to 42' TV for around 1k. I have read all the reviews on all the sites and it seems that What Hi Fi, which is the review I usualy base my buying descion on, is not helping this time.
Reading all the review sites suggest the following short list:
Panasonic 42 G10 / V10
Sony 40W5500
Samsung 7020
Given What Hi Fi loved the 40W4500, which I cant buy anymore (from John Lewis at least), I had hoped they would have equally liked the 40W5500 but say it has clouding issues. However, other sites seem not to mention clouding. Does the set suffer from it or not??
Then In a recent Supertest, What Hi Fi choose a winner at £1,800! This imho is a different price band, and saying its the best does not help the opnion of the other, possibly more mainstream sets.
What Hi Fi like the Samsung while other sites dont as much and the V10 again gets a indiffent review here.
Is there really no clear winning set? If the 40W5500 does not all have clouding issues or uneven backlight issues, is that not the one to buy??
