Hi All, First time user.
I have after much searching decided to buy the new Sony KDL40 W4000. The cost being £1100. I wish, for room reasons buy a 2.1 system. I have about £500/£600 left in my budget. I have looked at the following: Sony DAV-X10 (not actually heard) and Samsung HT-X810. I realise that I won't have a bluray but hope that both the above upscale.I have also looked at Mordaunt Short LCR with Cambridge 340R and Tangent Sub but this takes me over budget without a dvd/bluray. What do I do? I am tempted by the look of the DAV-X10 but as I said I can't actually find anywhere to listen to it. All this equipment is to be placed in a normal family living room placed in the corner.
Your comments greatly appreciated.

if you only want 2.1 why dont you just buy a traditional stereo amp with two sets of speaker outputs ie marantz pm6002(200 notes) connect your stereo speakers and connect a sub and there you have it. upscaling dvd like the denon dvd1940 (150) add your cdp and then your sorted

Thanks for your response. My hifi is in a different room. Today I actually found a sony centre with the DAVX10 set up. Sounded good to me. Cheers.
