1080p viewing distances

My own viewing doesn't agree with those figures personally - the difference between 720p and 1080p is very noticeable on a 42" from 10 feet - as with most things, don't believe everything you read, have a look for yourself.

Hmm, not sure I agree with those viewing distances either! I sit 9ft from my screen (40in), and should apparently have a 70in screen at that distance. Which would be way too big for my room.

Mind you, Clare will be along in a moment to say she has an 80in projector screen in her flat and that's fine.

Can anyone read that and not get the distinct impression the writers wife wouldn't let him have a 1080p?

I sit 8' from a 50" and can assure you I can see the difference. What next, I wasted my money on a viera cos LG make a LCD with the exact same number of pixels? Or, ITV and BBC must have exactly the same PQ cos it's the same res?

imagine watching a poor sd channel on a 1080p 70inch tv from 6ft ? you could play join the dots..
