Hello.
I have a Sony STR-DA1200es driving a Panasonic TH42-PZ81B. I have used this largely for HD gaming with an XBOX360 (componet not HDMI) as I get freeSatHD directly on the telly and I use with a number of standard def sources, DVD, CableTV and a WII.
I have previously connected the 1200es to the TV via Component running at 1080i. Its all been fine for years at 1080i.
As my Samsung DVD recorder has stopped playing any disc, I've just replaced it with an LG BDP-550, which is fully software updated and connected up over HDMI with a 10M HDMI cable from the amp to the set
This system works fully at 1080i over hdmi, but when I set the dvd output to 1080p the picture disapears. I have conencted the bluray directly to the tv and the picture is fine at both 1080i and 1080p. This leads me to think that the DA1200es doesn't support 1080p, but it states in the manual that it does.
Can anyone confirm if the 1200es does or doesn't suppprt switching 1080p over both hdmi sockets? I am aware of the HDMI audio limitations, but that's not the issue here.
Any help gladly received...
Thanks
Andy
