Hi,

After several decades of two channel hifi I have sold everything and I am planning to buy my first 5.1 home theatre system, for both music and movies too (a difficult compromise I know !)

The room is not large (approx 5m long x 3.5m wide, ceiling height 2.3m)

I have a budget of around £5k (TV screen not included). I am thinking of something like :-

Blu-ray : Denon DVD-2500BT / Pioneer BDP-LX71

Receiver : Pioneer SC-LX81 / Yamaha RXV-3900

Speakers : Tannoy Signature TS12 (DC4, DC4T, DC4 LCR) / KEF iQ50, iQ10, iQ60C

Subwoofer : not sure, but needs to be “fast” for music

Any advice or comments most welcome please, as I want to get this right first time. Many thanks

Hi Russell C

Ideally i would need to know a bit more about your room, screen etc. but in the mean time you may also want to consider (it's different) the following -

Blu-ray : Panasonic BD35

AV Amp/Receiver : Yamaha DSP-Z7

Speakers : ATC SCM11 (front), C1MK2 (centre) or C3MK2 (centre), SCM7 (rears), C1MK2 (sub)
