£300-£400 Floorstanders to go with Sony STRDH800 . . .

Looking to get a good pair of floor standers to go with my amp. Will eventually be getting Kef 2005.3 speaker system to go 7.1 as mainly play games on PS3 and watch movies and listen to music.

Any good suggestions ?

Hi Garth81, what about the kef iQ5se's they will go o.k with the kef 2005.3 's when you get them.

panasonic 50px70 / panasonic bd30 / panasonic ex87 / onkyo 606 / kef iQ5se's / kef iQ2c / kef iQ1's on atacama stands / kef 1005's for back surrounds / bk xls200 mk2.

i listened to kefs and they were class i just found the montior audio br5's better and far easier to drive very good at low volumes(late nights) i payed £450 but i think they are down to £375 with good cable offers also out there i would not be put of with them being 4 stars now. also do rs1's are a bookshelf but are class and they are having crazy offers as little as 250 plus stands.

you wont go far wrong with the monitor audio br5's, i used to own a pair there great value for money and are built well also.

I'd ensure you get the centre speaker to match whichever floorstanders you decide on when you look to go for your surround setup otherwise you'll lose cohesion on your front surround stage.

Thats the reason i said to Garth81 about the iQ5se's because they will match with the 2005.3 's he said he was going to get eventually.

Think i'm gonna have to have a listen and compare somewhere !!

Something sexy about the monitor BR5's had my eyes on these, although Kefs would work well together across the front. I'll keep you posted !
