I am about to get my first turntable. I have no spesific budget yet, will plan some shop visit for the next week. Any advice what to avoid, concentrate on, etc? Does it worth to go for second hand units? it will be connected to Rotel RA-1570 powering B&W CM9 Thanks, Tomas

Have you considered something like Minix Neo X8 - H? Ok, it got no display but you can control it via your android Smartphon. I use optical output and so far it works fine.

I have AKG Y50 from http://www.richersounds.com/ for 50 pounds and I am more than happy with them. Not sure for how much do they sell it at the moment...

I use "cheap" CD Player (Denon DCD 725) which I have for over 15 years connected via digital output to my Rotel RA 1570 and it sounds great. I would go for IRDAC as you can use DAC for another gear such as Network Player, TV, BD Player, ect...

Hi, I use Minix Neo X8-H as it has digital output which you can connect to your Pioneer N50 and use it's DAC. In the case you have spotify premium you'll just control Minix trough app on your smartphone. not so expensive and it has lots of potencial ... you can download any android app on it...

Thanks for the reply, I'll have to have a look on ebay. The problem is tha I live in Spain now, so pstage from UK would be another 50 quit. I want to try first AV as preamp(for films only) with possibility of phantom center, if that doesn't do the trick I'll have to get center speaker I quess.

I have tried to change audio settings on my player but there is no option to improve dialogs. What brands of players do have such options and would it work If I would use digital connection or on analog only?
