I do not think personally Phil ever really got to hear the DXD808 sub woofer at its best by the accounts of how the subs were set up. The JL Audio subs are nice, but it was a shame that you never got to hear how the DXD's can really perfom when set up correctly :)

The Audiolab is a good DAC and preamp but you will still need amplification, personally I have not heard the MDAC with ProAc so cannot comment on how well the 2 will work together, but you need to demo the kit to be sure!

Another vote for Naim with the ProAc's, I have the D28's with Naim and the sound is real foot tapping stuff, very good combination !

If you want good 2 channel then you might need to invest in a good 2 channel amplifier to power your speakers as trying to get great HiFi out of an AVR is not going to happen unless you are looking at the higher end models.

The Kef's are brilliant active speakers and the DAC's inside them are not too shabby, the only limit is that it will only go to 24/96 as the highest resolution but you can forgive them for that once you hear them in full swing, they really do pack a good punch for the money and I loved the sound...

Speaking of 3D, I have the 46" version of this TV and watched The Art Of Flight on it last night and have to say it was jaw dropping good, even the girlfriend who thought previously that 3D was a waist of money commented on how good it actually is on the new Samsung!!

Adding a sub will certainly open up the lower octaves, I am not usually a fan of Rel subs but when it comes to HiFi they have some of the best connections for intergrating the speakers and sub together, it might be worth looking for 2nd hand subs as some of there older ST subs were great and...
