I can recommend the Pure i20, sounds nice, much more detail and smoother sounding than my CA ID50 (lack of in built DAC). The pure can be had for £70. Luke

That's a shame Steve, there Are things of beauty, its strange you look at the wiring all codes and locking pins on there, the wishbone has all the codes and serial numbers on there to trace it back. Luke

It was a early morni b session. We ha e been out today, and I left my amp on playing music to burn the cable in. I must say it does seem to sound harsh, the midrange is very prominent, the vocal and midrange seems to really be alittle harsh and uneasy, so much so my girlfriend commented on this...

Here is my budget setup, I have had the 685s for 6 years almost and the NAD for 4years. Over the last week I bought the I20 dock/DAC and this week the Atlas interconnector. I have been messing with placement, jumper cables and homemade spikes under the speakers. Here are the pictures...

A quick update of events. Last week I bought a Pure i20 dock/DAC for my iPod and started using FLAC files converted to AIFF, I was using a Cambridge Audio i50 dock only. To complete the line up I thought I would try a budget but better quality interconnector, I had little hope but thought why...

Is there any reason why running it at full volume, compared to 3/4? Thanks Luke
