I think I have finally made my decision, but feel free to tell me if I'm wrong. I decited to go for a Cambridge Audio 651p preamp. Accoring to the specs it should be powerfull enough to work with my low output (0.2mV) Orofon MC20 cartidge.
Thanks
Thanks for your comment. Would you recommend anything in particular that works with a moving coil cartidge? What do you think about Project Phono Box Mk2 would it be worth cosidering getting one of them?
Hi,
I have recenlty "upgraded" my setup to the Rega Planar 2 turntable that comes with a decent Ortofon MC20 MKII cartidge. It's apparently a low output cartidge that produces a really low volume combined with my ROTEL RA-05 amplifier.

Thanks,

Hi,
Does anyone have any experience in adjusting Rotel RP-855 tonearm equipped with Audio technica AT 110E cartidge? I have checked the turntable owner's manual, but the guide specifies the distance from the centre of the spindle to the stylus tip only...
Alternatively is there any specyfic...
Thank you again. I have a local handyman guy and I will ask him for a quote on Monday. How could you explain the distortion that comes throught the speakers only but not headphones?
I have opened the amplifier again to look for any bulged caps, but I could not find any. Alhough I found something that looks like a fluid leakage around the caps as per attached image. Furthermore the cap on the left looks as it seats directly on the surface (board). The discolour on the...
