There's an Firmware upgrade available on the phillips website dated today. Unfortunately i can't see any documentation to say what it upgrades. Miles Link removed. See professor hat below. Turns out to be a mistake by Phillips- and is not an upgrade for the 8520.

I suspect its pioneer player. On page 29 of the manual it states "Secondary audio mark is displayed for scenes at which secondary audio is recorded". and on page 43 it shows you which menu option you need to alter if you don't wish to see the mark. hope that helps Miles

I too sent mine back to Play. Bit harder than sending stuff back to Amazon isn't it?! (Amazon provide a posting label with the postage already on it- if i recall). Will make me more likely to buy from Amazon in the future.
