Stacks of Denon hi-fi gear is currently discounted on Amazon AU

Wow! Australian prices for this is pretty good especially when it is over twice the price next door in New Zealand where I live! Prices in NZ appear to be set by throwing dice int the air. There seems to be little rhyme or reason to the vast discrepancies across brands.

And another vote from me... They look very nice, if I ever win the lottery I might be let into the shop that sells them.

I need a better stereo sound from my Onkyo TX-NR609

I had a similar problem and bought a Beresford speaker switch and a decent second hand stereo amp. Read this article to see why your excellent cinema amp doesn't quite cut it as a stereo amp. http://www.hifihunter.com/articles/improving-stereo-performance-surround-sound-setup-part-1/...

    Bose T10 v Cambridge Audio Minx s215

Hi there, I have owned Bose speakers before and they do look great but I was not happy with their sound quality especially when you consider how much Bose equipment costs! I have heard the Cambridge Audio Minx S325 system which sounded a hell of a lot better than the Bose set up in the same...

Connecting AV receiver to stereo amp

I vote for the http://www.beresford.me/products/TC-7220.html I was in the same boat as you and the Beresford amp/speaker switch works a treat and I have not noticed any loss in sound quality.

Acoustically transparent projector screens? Anyone had any experience of them?

I am looking at building a false wall in my new home theatre room with a large acoustically transparent screen to place the centre and front speakers behind, I can also build in stotage for the electronics and blu rays/DVD's which would keep the other half happy. Has anyone had any experience...

AV Receiver help in New Zealand

Thanks but sadly (and thankfully) I don't live in Auckland so have to rough it in the provinces. The only choices are JBHiFi, Harvey Norman and the few other shops that might stock one brand or two. I eventually bought the Onkyo 616 simply based on value and availability. So far it is a huge...

Will I really notice difference between my Sony 1200ES and new 500 pound amps?

If I still lived in the UK I probably would buy something like that but here in NZ there isn't ebay sadly. We have a similar site but with a population of just 4 and a bit million (the bit counts down here) you could wait years before something you want turns up second hand (I've tried it). The...

    Upgrade from sony STR-DH810

The 515 was supposed to replace the 609 and What HiFi gave it 5 stars initially but commented it didn't really improve on the 609 but then the 609 was supposed to be a corker for the money. The 616 should then be a step up from the 515 but there are few 'proper' reviews out to have a look at...

Will I really notice difference between my Sony 1200ES and new 500 pound amps?

I am building a home theatre and the costs are spiraling quickly! I already have a Sony 1200ES and a Sony DH800 plus Q Acoustics speakers (lots) and older Wharfedale 9.1/9.5/9.6/centre/subs etc. My question is would I really notice a huge improvement on the sound of the 1200ES in surround...

AV Receiver help in New Zealand

Help! I live in NZ although originally from the UK. I have been lucky to be able to convert our double garage into a media room and am looking at what AV equipment to put into it. The tough thing about NZ is the lack of choice and not living in one of the main centres, so auditioning is not...
