would a luxman integrated match well with Spendor A6?

I am driving my Spendor A6's with a Musical Fidelity M6i. Very neutral and give me exactly what's on the recording, good or bad. I love the amp. They also have an M3 series which I understand share some of the sonic attributes of the M6.

    Which AMP for B&W CM9?

Naim Supernait would get my nod. I auditioned the B&W CM9's several time before deciding to go another way but never got the opportunity to listen with Naim. Some months later I heard the Naim 5si at another shop and thought immediately about how it might go well with the CM9. The Naim might...

    New system question

The Q Acoustics look very nice and response is certainly more than decent. I suggest a listen of course in person. Go with your ears every time regardless of what the reviews say. The idea of bringing an amp with you is a good one. One amp (I'm not sure of your budget) is the Rega Brio R. More...

    2 channel integrated amp choice

I'd love to hear your impressions when you get the amp. Yamaha has built quality gear for a long time.

Musical fidelity M6i or Naim Nait xs to drive my B&W 683

 Be happy to provide a little more detail... Cardas Clear Sky and Acoustic Zen Satori, similarly priced cables and very similar in sound. Deep solid bass, neutral midrange but as I categorize them, uninteresting high end, loss of a little grit of percussion and cymbal. Nothing...

    2 channel integrated amp choice

NAD is highly regarded and I have owned a preamp of theirs for a long time and have been happy with it. NAD is a great value in my experience. I bought an HK3490 which stayed in my house for about a week. Returned it. Very weak, thin bass, very bright high end. Bad experience. Cant help you...

Musical fidelity M6i or Naim Nait xs to drive my B&W 683

This site is, by far, the most civil and generally informative forum I visit. Regarding speaker cables, I went through quite an "sound-off/shoot out" some time ago trying a lot of cables on loan from a company here. Cardas, Audience, Monster, Shunyata, Audioquest, DH Labs, Acoustic Zen, Alpha...

Upgrading cartridge. Would a phono stage make a difference?

If you are using a high output moving coil like the Denon DL110, there is less need for a separate phono stage. Low output moving coils are another story and can benefit from a phono stage like the Clearaudio Nano or Musical Surroundings which offer adjustable loading for the LOMC.

When I got my MF, I had the same reaction.....oh there's the bass! Enjoy :)

Cartridge for Pro-ject Xpression III and Spendor a6

Thanks for the suggestions! I am guessing the Goldring sound signature is similar through the range or at least it was many years ago. Clearaudio was on my short list as well.

Cartridge for Pro-ject Xpression III and Spendor a6

Can anyone share thought or recommendations for a good cartridge for Project Xpression/Spendor A6 combination? I was thinking of a Goldring Eroica LX. I remember listening to Goldring many years ago and thought they had a very detailed, clean sound. Comments, opinions and recommendations are...

    Speaker Advice Needed

I hesitated to recommend the Spendor A6 in case you were looking at something more expensive. When I read your description of your audition experience of the ProAc and Monitor Audio compared to what you are looking for I couldn't help but think of my own situation. After lots of listening, I...

    Spendor A9 v PMC OB1i

I find when the bass is there, the Spendor A6's have no problem reproducing it but will not add or subtract anything. Very neutral and revealing. Some of my old recordings I used to think sounded great on my KEF Q80's turns out are not well recorded at all. KEF's maybe had a little too much...
