Ok so I'm running a set of mission m cube 5.1's with the weird umbilical thing to my Sony STR DN1040 (amp bought from richer sounds for £100, and I sold my Onkyo 605 for £80 on eBay - Decent swap for £20 or what!?) anyways, I'm thinking of upgrading to 7.1 as mission m cube satelites peakers...

hmm had a quick look at it, it seems to offer a bunch of fairly useless stuff intenet tuner for example, who bothers with radio these days? maybe looking at teh Yam 373

RIGHT, I think I got it so I could use either optical or these electrical jobbers. And I'm guessing the electrical ones are better than optical?

right, I see, and a standard toslink optical cable will fit these electrical digital inputs yes? I can seem to remember seeing the connections at the back of the amp

i honestly think this hdmi thing is total nonsense. anyone who see's a difference is usually psychosomatic, I mean theyve spent some ridiculous sum of money on a damn cable and do you really think they're gonna say 'nope no difference' no they aint, theyre gonna convince themselves it looks...
