I'd be more worried about covering the vent holes on the top of the Sky unit and the effect on cooling. (Sky+ has big air vent on top - I dont know about skyHD).

In option menu / display set/ you can schange the osd display settings. Also, in option menu / video set / you can change the hdmi resolution and upscaling options. Another thought, check that the output resolution on the hdmi doesnt exceed what your tv is capable of.

The manual for the 763 says the amp should be connected to the tv via hdmi out port. It also says that pressing the setup button gets the osd menu on the monitor/tv. Are you absolutely sure the hdmi cable is 1.3a ?. Might be worth trying a different cable.

Yes thats exactly what I meant. Out of the box i connected my 863 via hdmi to my tv and hit the setup menu botton and got the menu up no probs. If you dont mind possibly wasting a few minutes re-inputing your settings and running the audo setup routine again - try doing a factory re-set in case...

mm. I would check the hdmi cable is plugged in the correct ports (hhmdi out on amp and hdmi in 1 on tv), check hdmi cable is 1.3 compliant (not dvi converted). check hdmi settings. try factory re-setting the amp (just in case ).
