Hi Guys, Ive posted this in the cable forum, but should have put it in here! So sorry if you have already read this.Im new to all this so need a little help. Im moving into a new house soonIm investing an a Yamaha YSP-4100, new tv, BlueRay Player. We will also be having a V+ box.I'm unsure how to link everything to together. From what I have read I link The Virgin Box and Blue Ray Player Via HDML cable straight to the tv? Audio wise I come out of the cable box and Blue Ray Player into the Yamaha? Is this correct. Or does everything go via HDMI to the Yamaha, then into the tv?Also! Where is the best place to buy Optical Cables, are there different brands like HDMI or are they all as good as each other?ThanksChris

Best bet is to connect V+ and Blu-Ray player to the Yamaha via HDMI for both picture and audio, and then one HDMI cable from the Yamaha into the TV to pass on the video from each box.

For HDMI cables, some people can see and hear differences between them and others either can't or refuse to believe it's scientifically possible (have a read of the Big Question section in the new WHF which is due out soon!).

Personally, I would recommend trying a cheap one and an expensive one from a retailer who will allow you to return whichever one is relevant once you've been able to test! On the budget side, ThatCable at £5 is a good start, whilst I personally wouldn't stretch to more than a QED HDMI-P as a more expensive option (can be got for £20 - £30 now) in that setup personally.

Thanks for your help! Was reading lots of forums where people are using optical out...is that because sky can only do it that way?
