I have been mulling over between the Denon 2310 and the Yamaha RXV2065. My mind is now swaying over to the Yamaha but i have just read a review which says:-
"I got one of these amps yesterday and it is great. I have had 2 Yamaha
amps before, but lower specs. If you are looking for an AV amp then I
would always buy Yamaha, and if you can afford this over the cheaper
options then I think it is worth the extra. The sound quality is great
and some of the features are surprisingly good, like internet radio and
network music (playing music over a network shared from a PC running
windows media player). The only thing I have found that could be
improved is that I have quite a large music collection on my PC and
there is no search facility, so i have to scroll down a list of artists
or titles. This is a bit of a pain with about 17,000 tracks. Only other
issues, albeit caused by Sky, not Yamaha, is that Sky HD does not
output Dolby Digital via the HDMI and this amp does not allow an
optical input of sound with a picture from HDMI (this may be fixed by
the time you read this, so check with Yamaha). They have released a fix
on all of the other amps in the range, but not this one yet as it is
brand new, but I am waiting for feedback from Yamaha"
My issue is with the Dolby Digital compatibility with Sky HD, just wondering if anyone else has had issues with this or heard of issues with this? Or is it ok now with newer Sky HD boxes?
