Hmm, I guess you get theatres and we get hifi dealers, life isn't fair for anyone :doh:

I would much rather have HiFi dealers any day...not a theatre lover in any way shape or form. Swap??

The RX-A2020 is now showing as in stock on the Ceative Audio website.

I didn't cancel my order as was waiting til the weekend to make a decision so I just sent them an email to confirm what the situation is so hopefully some good news may be on the way but then again it could just be another mistake on their website so I'm not counting on it actually being in stock but thought it was worth letting you know.

Spoke to Creative Audio a short while ago and a Yamaha RX-A2020 is on it's way to me for delivery tomorrow, can't wait. After the delay i'm very excited about receiving one and what it will do for my system, in the end Creative were able to supply one for the quoted £799 which is almost half price compared to all other retailers on the internet so it was well worth the (albeit frustrating) wait.

Now i'm pondering adding front height speakers for full effect from the amp...could even go full 9.1 but I think that will be overkill inmy room and as there are no 9.1 discs on the market bit of a waste of money? Will mull it over but i'm definatel;y inclined to give the front heights a go and if i'm not happy revert to a more traditional 7.1 layout.

Very happy now and Creative Audio came good in the end so kudos to them just a shame the wait was very nearly 6 weeks but they were really apologetic on the phone and are making sure it gets here tomorrow so they can't really do anymore can they, will report back once it's up and running with a quick review for anyone considering buying one.

Can't say I'm not tempted by the 2020 at those prices. The only thing stopping me, is the impending move early next year.

If yourself or anyone else is tempted I would get in quick as only a small number were delivered this morning and I would expect them to sell out pretty quickly at that price.

They rang me this afternoon, and I got one of the last two, so I'm a happy camper too.

Mine won't be delivered until Monday though, as no-one could be home on Friday to receive the beast, and then with me working away, I won't be able to play with it until the following Friday.

Quick update:

2020 arrived this morning and I'm just about to wire it up and get it firing...can't wait!

Creative came good in the end and I got it for £799 with free next day delivery so I'm very happy, will report back when I've had a chance to give it a thorough test

I quickly popped into CA today whilst in town..........I can confirm that their usually full shelves have a few gaps. And looking at the tickets on those gaps, it's all Yamaha products that are missing!!!

Guess Yamaha can't keep up with the demand....they did that trick with the 863SE some years ago too!! :wall:

Maybe they will learn one day.......(or are not confident with their products for some reason??)
