I bought a Yamaha AS300 amp, Yamaha CDS300 CD player and Monitor audio BX2 speakers. I connected the system and switched it on. I made sure that the there was no short circuit, stray strands touching the panel and all the positives and negatives were connected right way round. Power management is on and the speaker output is selected to A. wires were initially connected to the top two connectors on the speaker with the metal plates still on. I tried different combinations with the metal plate off and connecting to the lower ones. The impedance is selected to high.

Still when the amp is switched on the input blinks for a second. Then the amp turns off with a click and the indicator light continues to blink.

Please help.

Hello garrott, it looks like the circuit protection system is running, please, review the connections and the impedance selector. If you disconnect all the connections and turn the amp on, if the power led doesn't blink It will show you the problem is in the connections.I own one AS 500, I hope this help you. Kind Regards

Thanks. It kept blinking even after the speakers were disconnected. So returned it to the store. They provided a new one which is working without problem.
