Hia all ....I'm a new postie I would like to know my research in a system set up for primary vinyl.
The set I want to get is:
Rega planer rs edition
Rega fono mk5
Cambridge audio cxa81 mk2
Beyerdynamic tesler T5 3rd generation
I'm in my 60s and itching to get back to my records.
Is this a good set up? Obviously a nice comfy chair to sink into.

If you have heard the combination and like it, then go ahead and buy, if you have just picked then from reviews, then NO, as everybody ears and preferences are different.

Get yourself off to a dealer and listen to various combinations until you find one you like. (Use reviews to narrow down the choice)

Hi, do you have already some speakers, which will be a part of your hifi setup? How big is the room? And what about digital, do you listen to it as well? Cd, streamer...? BR

That is the best advise go and get a demo sorted out at richer sounds just phone them at your local store and book some demo time they should setup what you thinking of getting .
That why you will see if you like the sound and setup before handing the cash ..

As you are choosing some very costly headphones, I think you’d need to be 100% sure that the amplifier is a suitable match. I know it would be fine for the majority of loudspeakers, but you haven’t mentioned any.

Others have alluded to all the points I would make:
  1. Can you audition the equipment at a local store? It doesn't matter how good it is, it matters how good it sounds to you.
  2. No mention of loudspeakers, if you plan to just listen on headphones, I would look more into a more headphone focussed amp.
  3. Tell the people in the shop what you are looking for and see if they have any alternative recommendations.

Thanks everyone.
My room is 12.5 x 9. The speakers I'd like to get is Prodigy 1 or Kef r3 meta.
I like the advice of book a listening session, I have a few store to choose from, Manchester area is near to where I am.

It really is the best advice - and something you will appreciate all the more when you hear the differences between speakers.

Better still (if maybe not so easy) would be to arrange a home loan of amplifier and speakers to try in your own room - because, as you may be aware, positioning and room acoustics have massive influence on the sound.
