If anyone is looking at getting this it's on offer and is reduced to £269, I have no affiliation with any of the retailers selling it, I just own an ultra and think it's a great bit of kit, esp at that price.
Cheers

So good you posted twice....Yes, I posted about it in the 'Hot Deals' section - because it is quite a big deal.
First time the UK price has gone below £349.
£269 in Richer, Peter Tyson and Sevenoaks.
Amazon are doing it for £279.20.
If the others can do it for less....hopefully Amazon will see quite a few potential customers deleting it from their baskets (not that they'll care).
hear, hear!Always buy from physical bricks and mortar shops if possible, keeps them on the high street instead of yet another empty premises
Good shout always forget about the hot deals section🙂, as you say it's a big chunk off and there can't be much if anything around for that price that matches it's functionality and performance. CheersYes, I posted about it in the 'Hot Deals' section - because it is quite a big deal.

Could not agree more the amazing Audio T in Swindon have allowed me to home demo prospective purchases so I can judge what they sound like in my home rather than a demo room, with no pressure to buy afterwards, just brilliant serviceAlways buy from physical bricks and mortar shops if possible, keeps them on the high street instead of yet another empty premises
And this is the sort of service that is needed for a bricks and mortar establishment to survive these days.....Could not agree more the amazing Audio T in Swindon have allowed me to home demo prospective purchases so I can judge what they sound like in my home rather than a demo room, with no pressure to buy afterwards, just brilliant service
Not specifically its DAC Doug, but no question digital, analogue and headphones out all have the same presentation difference to what I'm used to.I have heard from a member of this forum the DAC implementation in the Wiim is nowhere near as good as the identical DAC in his Cyrus.
You probably dont *need* 100wpc, and you should find the Fosi monos fine for most speakers, as they’ve been tested at over 100 into 8 ohms. I found them very good with my 4ohm Sonus fabers. I also find my modestly specified Pass Labs great too.Well I've bought one and its very nice to use, I am wondering what equally economical power amp to partner it with, ideally I'd like at least 100W per channel into 8 ohms so that I don't have to think about it again!
The issue seems to be that the low cost solutions like , Fozi, SMSL, Topping etc all seem to fall below the 100W figure that I have in mind, any ideas?
N.B. I probably should have asked before Black Friday!
Edit: I have been informed that the Fosi V3 Mono can do 100W into 8 ohms, perhaps I can mount one behind each speaker with line level RCA connections from the Ultra.
That's what I would do.I have been informed that the Fosi V3 Mono can do 100W into 8 ohms, perhaps I can mount one behind each speaker with line level RCA connections from the Ultra.
And another argument: better to buy from a local entrepreneur with a passion for his job than from a billionaire who doesn't care what he sells.Always buy from physical bricks and mortar shops if possible, keeps them on the high street instead of yet another empty premises
