Wierd wiring Onkyo 905 issue

Hi,

Was wondering if anyone out there has come across this issue before.

During dolby digital films, when the volume gets loud the amp switches itself off to standby red flashing mode (Think top gun intro). I've managed to isolate the issue to the back rear right speaker, if I disconnect this it is fine. If I connect another speaker to the back right it is also fine. I've noticed in test tone mode that when I select front right, both the rear right and the front right play at the same time! Same happens if I select rear right speaker, both the rear right and front right play at the same time.

Any idea if this would be a speaker wire issue or an amp issue?

Will try and connect the speakers to another amp tomorrow to see what happens.

i would be looking at your menu and the Bi amping settings. if you are saying you get the same test tone from both speakers at the same time?

Thanks Nads, I managed to track down the problem, wires were squashed against a screw behind some covering that I had to wrip out.
