Why the Distortion

Hello I have downloaded some C.D's to my ipod and Three C.D's have come out distorted ! Why has this happened to just three out of Twenty? Hope someone can shed some like to this.

In itunes top tool bar edit, then preferences, then in the General tab, import settings then tick the box for error correction. Failing that a faulty CD?

Thanks I'll try what you suggest later, the thing is they play o.k. on my C.D player !
